Cinturificio Balzani - Oregon: Tuscan tanning tradition

Oregon: a story rooted in Tuscan tanning tradition

In our belt factory, we chose Oregon not only for its performance, but for what it represents: a story rooted in Tuscan tanning tradition, noble materials, and respect for raw leather.

In a world dominated by industrial production, Oregon leather is a counter-current choice: one of authenticity, of enduring quality, and of craftsmanship that takes no shortcuts.

Features and origin

Oregon is made from selected European bull shoulders, a part of the hide known for its compactness and strength. After careful selection, the hides are processed in Tuscany using an ancient and natural method: vegetable tanning. No aggressive chemical additives, only tannins extracted from plants like chestnut and mimosa, which give the leather a living structure that evolves over time.

The result of this Tuscan tanning tradition? A full-grain leather that retains its original surface, with all its natural markings and imperfections. A material that doesn’t need to be covered or disguised—it speaks for itself through its quality.

A material that adjusts, adapts, transforms

What makes Oregon unique is not only its toughness, but also its ability to change. Every belt made from this leather develops a personal patina over time—one that’s completely unique. The natural waxes and aniline used in the finishing process don’t cover, they enhance. Every mark, every shade is a detail that adds value and identity.

This is leather that ages well—actually, it gets better.

Oregon and Tuscan tanning tradition: for those who choose consciously

Oregon is not meant for those looking for a standard product. It’s for those who choose carefully, who appreciate details, who can recognize an authentic material rooted in Tuscan tanning tradition.

Its production follows strict sustainability standards: the tannery that produces it is certified by the LWG (Leather Working Group), ensuring environmental responsibility and transparency in the production process.
